2017 British GT Championship
Akhil Rabindra has been selected for the McLaren GT Driver Academy, as the Woking-based company looks to continue developing and handing opportunities to some of the world’s best young drivers. For 2017, the academy has chosen the Indian racer Akhil Rabindra along with 7 other drivers from across the world.
The BRDC GT Championship is a sports car racing series based in the United Kingdom. The series was originally created by the British Racing Drivers’ Club in 1993 and, for its first two seasons, was known as the National Sports GT Challenge. The 2017 British GT Championship was the 25th British GT Championship. The season began on 15 April 2017 at Oulton Park and finished on 24 September 2017 at Donington Park, after nine rounds held over seven meetings.
Akhil Rabindra secured a credible third in silver category, in his debut British GT Championship held at Oulton Park, UK. This was Akhil Rabindra’s debut in the British GT series and he drove along with his team mate Dean Macdonald. They finished the series in 13th overall. Their team Black Bull Garage 59 stood 2nd overall in the series.
2016 Duo BRDC Formula 3 Championship
The 2016 BRDC British F3 Championship is a motor racing championship for open wheel, formula racing cars held across England and, for the first time, Belgium. The 2016 season will be the first one under the BRDC British F3 denomination. The championship features professional motor racing teams, and will also feature the debut of the new 2-litre 230-bhp Tatuus-Cosworth single seat race car in the main series.
The season began at Snetterton 300 on 27 March and will end on 11 September at Donington Park, after eight triple header events for a total of twenty-four races. Akhil had a great experience in driving across the world rebounded tracks in England
2015 Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship
Akhil debuted in the prestigious Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship a multi-event motor racing championship for open wheel, formula-racing cars held across England, with team Douglas Motorsport in the 2-litre Duratec single seat race cars that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship.
The season began at Oulton Park on 4 April and ended on 27 September at Brands Hatch, after eight triple-header events for a total of twenty-four races.
Formula Masters China Series - Best finish 4th
Formula Masters China Series (FMCS) is a new Formula series designed to develop young drivers, and adds an exciting new element to the Chinese and Asian motorsport scene.
FMCS is a one-make series using a state-of-the-art Formula car providing both performance and safety With a Tatuus FA010 Carbon composite monocoque, FIA F3 homologated chassis and a 2.0 Formula engine providing 180 HP, the FMCS race car is both competitive and cost-efficient. The series runs across Asia in countries like, Malaysia, South Korea and Others with racers participating from across the world. Akhil could participate in 3 rounds and had to retire due to a racing incident, his best finish was 4th.
J K Racing championship 2014 (Formerly known as Formula BMW) - Vice Champion
JKRC has an unrivalled track record for training future Champions and developing them for a success which graduates to the highest levels of the sport. The Formula BMW Series across the world has produced drivers like Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, Daniel Ricciardo, Sebastien Buemi and many more. This coupled with the highest safety standards, makes the FB02 the most suitable machine for up and coming drivers to learn on. Akhil Rabindra won 9 podiums in the 4 rounds and emerged as the Vice Champion for the year 2014 that becomes his stepping stone to forge ahead.

Toyota Etios Motor Racing EMR 2013 - Vice Champion
Continuing the Company’s global legacy of motorsports, the EMR tourney will be supported by one of the most accomplished engineering companies in motorsport history – TRD (Toyota Racing Development), the corporate brand from the Toyota affiliate, Toyota Technocraft Co. Ltd. The cars are FIA qualified with racing parts supplied by TRD, and there technical expertise will be utilised throughout the series. After a nation-wide search with over 3300 contenders and 3 driving camps, 25 EMR drivers were chosen to race. Akhil secured 5 podiums and claimed 1st runner-up in the overall championship
Toyota Etios Colombo Night Race - Champion
Akhil signed off 2012 in style with a thumping win at the Colombo Night Race in Sri Lanka, in the Toyota Etios category. He went into the Colombo Night Race 2012 having put up impressive performances in India; he was the youngest finalist in the saloon car category at the Toyota Etios Motor Racing Championship. Akhil managed a podium finish at the Exhibition Race in Chennai and finished strongly in the Race of Champions in Delhi; with such good showing he ensured his selection for the Colombo event was sealed. And in Sri Lanka he stamped his class on the Colombo Night Race 2012 with an effort that kept him in the pole position from start to finish and got him the champion’s title in the Toyota Etios category.
Toyota Vios Cup, Thailand 2013 - Podium Finish
The Vios Cup is a grassroots racing competition catered to motorsports enthusiasts. The Vios Cup is designed to make platform for budding racers. The Toyota Vios EMR being just a little over a year old in India and given its drivers an international exposure. As part of Team Toyota Etios Motor Racing (EMR), Akhil secured a podium finish at the race held in Thailand.
JK Racing Asia Series (JKRAS) 2012 – Finished 7th in the championship
The JKRAS provides a platform for young racers to display their skills at International levels and was the only Junior Formula providing a unique opportunity for drivers to race in front of the Formula One fraternity. This series features a line up of 25 drivers aged between 15 and 28 years from Asia-Pacific, Europe and Africa. Akhil was a guest driver in 2 rounds of this series and secured 7th position in 3 of the races.
JK Tyre Nationals Racing Championship 2012 – LGB Formula Swift – Finished 6th in the championship
The Formula LGB 4 category is the first step to single –seat racing and remains the most economical single seater racing available anywhere across the world. The Formula 4 has a frame made entirely of chrome molybdenum tubing. It runs on a carburetted 1298cc Suzuki Swift engine and an Esteem 5-Speed Gearbox. Space Frame made of Molylube material specifically made for racing cars. Akhil participated in the entire series, which was a good learning experience for entry level open wheel racing. His best finish was 6th position.
