Akhil Rabindra, the only Asian in the Aston Martin Racing (AMR) Driver Academy, started the 2022 season with the GT4 European Series, one of Europe’s strongest GT National Championships for the 4th consecutive year
In the Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 in the Silver Cup Class, with an all-new team – Racing Spirit of Léman. Akhil is placed third in the overall drivers’ standings in the silver category with a total of 46 points to his kitty while Racing Spirit of Leman is leading the overall team standings with a total of 81 points.

GT4 European Series 2021

Akhil Rabindra, started the 2021 season with the GT4 European Series, driving an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for the AGS Events Racing team in the Silver Cup Class

Akhil Rabindra has signed up with Aston Martin Racing Academy for the 2020 season for the second consecutive year. The 24-year-old continues his association with the British factory racing team, signed with the AMR Driver Academy in 2019. He is a part of the 12 elite drivers selected from across the globe, who will undergo training and assessment with the AMR team in the UK. Akhil Rabindra, is all set to start his 2020 season August onwards with the French FFSA GT4 Championship, one of Europe’s strongest National GT Championships. Akhil will be driving an Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT4 for the AGS Events Racing team, across five rounds of the six round Championship and finished P9 in Pro-Am category and P14 overall

2019 GT4 European Series & 2019 24H Series European GT

In the season 2019, Akhil Rabindra is selected for the Aston Martin Drivers Academy and is racing in the GT4 European Series drove an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 for PROsport Performance in the 2019 GT4 European Series. Rabindra teamed up with 23-year-old Swiss racer Florian Thoma. Akhil with his team PROsport Performance achieved the first podium for the New Aston Martin Vantage GT4 by finishing 3rd overall with 46 points in the European Championship 2019 GT Cars driver per class, in the 2019 24H Series European GT. In the 2019 GT4 European Series they finished overall 8th with 57 points standing in the silver category and 42nd with 59 points standing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

In the season 2018, Akhil Rabindra joined the French Team 3Y Technology to drive in the GT4 European Series in BMW M4 GT4 Car in the silver class alongside Belgian driver Stephene Leveret and finished 18th in the silver category with a best finish of 4th in Race-3 and a top 10 result in the French GT4 round in Spain. Rabindra had also participated in the 2018 24H TCE Series, 24-hour Silverstone 2018 with team Excelr8 Motorsport.

2017 British GT Championship

In the year 2017, he was selected by the McLaren GT Driver Academy to race in the British GT Championship with team Black Bull Garage 59. He secured a credible 7th in silver category, in his debut 2017 British GT Championship held at Oulton Park, UK.

Rabindra previously competed in single-seater championships such as the 2016 BRDC British Formula-3 Series with team Lanan Racing, the 2015 BRDC Formula 4 Series in the United Kingdom. Rabindra was the Winner of 2014 FIA Institute Young Driver Excellence Award, Vice Champion in 2014 JK Tyre National Racing Championship, Winner 2013 Toyota Etios Colombo Night Race and Vice Champion in 2013 Toyota Etios Motor Racing (EMR).

Along with racing on track, Akhil is also associated with the Sean Edwards Foundation where he is a safety ambassador.
